fug(ue)ging hell
... britney spears as a fugue??
some dude wrote a fugue using the melody of britney's "oops i did it again". genius. skip the commentary after the first minute (trust me on this) and go straight to 03:24 for the fun.
nb: when i say "fugue", think a round-- "are you sleeping, are you sleeping, father john? father john?" except a million times more complicated. skip to the second note for more information. or just watch the video.
watch it on youtube!
glenn gould is a genius (besides being a freaking amazing conductor).
fugue for 6 voices. hilarious.
nb: a fugue is a musical piece for several "voices" (melodic phrases). the only "rule" is that one lone voice must introduce the melodic idea (idee fixe) that carries the entire song. most fugues are exercises in composition, with the original phrase turned upside down, played backwards, higher, lower, pulled longer or shorter.. always being able to harmonise with the previous iteration of the idee fixe.
