lousy turnout on friday = game off. aw.
contacting fellow bassists reveals that most of them automatically assume i'm a guy. all of them (so far) have called me bro or some variation thereof. heh heh.
fruitful weekend wrt relaxing/reading. finished children of hurin (which i already have an abbreviated/ differently-edited version of in the silmarrilon/lost tales vol. 2) and caught up with the most recent fables and desolation jones comics. slept 10 hours. fiddled around with the bass a bit (which i sadly haven't been doing) playing some muse bass solos. possible gig in june! the prospect makes me feel all tingly inside.
going down to bukit batok to buy the NE-1 bass effect. this is the cheapest i've seen it go for pretty long. the seller says there are scratches on the cover but i'm not picky. i can't afford anything else, considering i'm planning to go on holiday soon and pay my insane library fines. argh. i'm hoping this little baby makes my beaten-up yamaha sound like a vintage jazz ibanez. haha fat hope. oh well. for 60 bucks and unanimously-glowing reviews from almost every site i've checked, i guess it's a bargain.
