At one point, Shango the thunder god asks him, "Why don't you speak straightforwardly?" "I never do," Eshu responds. "I like to make people think."
--from an article on eshu-elegbara on techgnosis.com. eshu-elegbara is a west african trickster god, and the article is pretty illuminating.. hmm
this week has been exhausting -- less than 6h of sleep per night till saturday (8h). went to ubi this morning to settle chens 2.0. by some minor miracle aig has not only agreed to re-insure me but also maintain premiums. a pleasant shock. no money gained from the insurance but none lost either, except for the re-purchasing of a new insurance policy. 1.4k. not too difficult to pay back within the next 5 years.
interesting clinics. of course i can't talk about any exciting things that happened wrt patients (i feel like a government agent! how cool is that!) but i can tell you that some events of the past week have made me really wonder about how the selection process for medicine.
hon's surprise birthday party was a success! hanoicollage plus action figures was well-received, together with the tears-inducing video. haha. i wonder if jp included the mad one we made at ronnie's house.. i shall ask him to burn me a copy.
am thinking of either going to the philippines (hard to find travel buddies. the wrong kind of MILF running rampant through the south, and general dislike of chinese/christians in general makes it tough to find people interested in going) or burma (feel that possibility of imminent death greatly improves travel experience. but doubt i will be able to find anyone to go with me-- will be worse than philippines) in june. started research last week. hmm.

to be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best night and day to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle any human being can fight and never stop fighting.
