woo bass time!
flying fingers-- they say pianists have an edge on guitarists because of the fact that we're more used to moving our fingers independently , but somehow i think the difference is seriously insignificant in comparison to metal bassists. picking with all four fingers! insane! metalmen and their speedguitar wanking. seriously.
since i've been on a quest to learn slapping and popping, here's the one of the most popular slap bassists around: fleeeeaa! and my personal favourite, les claypool owning metallica's master of puppets. watch that man's thumb pop-popping away, people. pro-ness.
to those people who say bassists can't do shit without the rest of the band: here's the Man, victor wooten, playing both the bass AND the melody, with both hands. hats off, people.
have you heard of a tiny little 70's superband called the Who? here's their insanely-talented bassist, john entwhistle. 60 years old and still rocking on... alright.
