clap your hands if you want more franz!
franz ferdinand rocked! SO HARD! omg. i am so happy i went. squeezed into the moshpit front and centre, and nearly got caught in the middle of a huge fight. fights are somehow much scarier when you cant move your arms and are surrounded by huge, huge drunk guys who are pretty intent on picking a fight.
but. it was so worth the 90 bucks to be in the mosh pit-- even though i was squashed between hot (the bad kind of hot. temperature hot. but maybe the good kind too. it was too dark to tell) drunk angmohs -- just to punch! and yell! and fly round and round and flail and scream and bellow at the top of your voice under lights that are going shatterblinkingcrazy and stomping moshing fantastic LIVE MUSIC!
being 10 metres away from franz ferdinand was completely and totally worth it! getting possibly some molecules of their spit on me: even better! (they threw their cups of water into the moshpit cos we looked hot. and we were. and i got splashed. twice. i am so lucky) and i was front and centre, right in front of 3 of them! THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CONCERT! omg! i nearly died. not just because it was so bloody stuffy and hot (who cares?? but it was. im surprised noone fainted.) but because OMG FRANZ FERDINAND! LOVE! seriously the camaraderie (the more i change this word, the wronger it looks. it shall stay like this.) was fantastic in the mosh pit, especially towards the end. those who couldnt take the heat and the fatigue just left (girls in clubbing attire, heels and everything, pushing their way out soaked to the skin. tchk.) and everyone else started seriously dancing!!! and everyone started taking better care of each other. except for mark and his terrorist-lighter. hurhur.
nothing, nothing, NOTHING on this earth is comparable to hearing TAKE ME OUT being performed 10 metres away, with 300 people singing along and moshing and basically having an hella good time. i nearly cried, it was that good. unbelievable. their showmanship is incredible. and theyre unstoppable. 2 hours of solid, solid rock. all killer, no filler indeed. stompingly-good music-- their albums just cannot compare. every time i listen to their albums now i just feel so sad. its like looking at a shadow and trying to figure out what colour that object is. plain flat-out impossible: nice shadow, but the real thing's a million billion times better.
damn. they seriously rock.
